Villa Lidia was originally built in 17th century and have been enlarged in the mid to late eighteenth century, it took its present shape in 1781. The villa remained the property of a noble family when it was later bought by Carolina Murat Bonaparte, the Queen of Naples. From 1840 the house passed to many renown noble famiies of Itay, then later at 1899 it passed to the current owners. History is everywhere here, and two large portraits in the drawing room were painted by Vincenzo Dandini.

 

Villa Lidia is a historic villa and is it is protected by the Italian Heritage Villas Association, though a stately home is not open to the public but it is offered as a holiday home. The villa can cater for lunch and dinner guests, with groups up to a maximum 20 people, and with menus based on ancient Italian and Tuscan recipes. The villa is moreover equipped for the organization, with preference for groups of maximum 120/150 persons, for events of every type (conferences, cocktails of presentation, cultural manifestations, receptions, weddings etc.)

Accommodation for holiday guests comprises on the first floor a suite "the Queen's Room" with double bedroom, bathroom and sitting room, and two further double bedrooms with bathroom. On the second floor (there is no lift for the moment) there are two double bedrooms with bathroom. There are also two small single bedrooms on the first floor and one on the second floor which are suitable for children. This is a holiday of aristocratic, old-world splendour, with this impressive villa sitting amidst spacious formal gardens. And when you head further a field you'll find lots to enjoy and explore. The villa has a new pool lying roughly 100 metres from the villa.
